As you know, both of you who read this blog, I have recently bought a small business and now work for myself.  As such, the days of paid vacations are long gone.  Unfortunately, this is coming at a time when I am also mourning my care free days as a bachelor working for Outward Bound.  During those years it didn't take much convincing to get me to load the sleeping bag into a car and head off on a new adventure.  So, I have asked N if she would mind running the shop for a week next year while I take off on a fishing trip.  I think she understands the situation and quickly agreed.  So, I am hoping that Z and I can head out and spend a week touring and fishing the NW.  I live near Seattle and he is just outside of Boise.  So, we have a lot of great water within our reach.  We both enjoy our beverages and food (proven by our pear-shaped bodies) so I am naming this potential trip as the Burger & Flies Tour.  I am hoping to discover great new fishing waters as well as places to eat, drink and sleep.

Here is where I am asking for your help.  Do you have any suggestions for us?  One option is a tour of Washington.  There is a lot I haven't seen of North Central and Eastern WA.  I also know there is some great fishing in NE Oregon and we could easily spend a week there.  A third thought was a West Slope Cutthroat trip through N Idaho and Western Montana.  Please let me know if you have any recommendations for places to fish, eat or sleep.  I'll keep you informed of our planning and, of course, will post a diary of our trip.
